Four Questions with...
Lew Burdette!
(1957 World Series MVP)
On this page, I'm going to ask four questions. They will be questions asked to people related to the hobby of autograph collecting, including (but not limited to): Former Players, Current Players, Hall of Famers, Baseball Autograph Collectors and "Super Fans". I hope to update this monthly.

For his efforts, he was named World Series MVP. Recently I asked him some questions about the World Series and his career as a Milwaukee Brave. These questions were asked, and answered, over the phone. However, Mr. Burdette did let me tape his answers. That tape is saved in the nBo Baseball archive.

Joe's question #1:
In the 1957 World Series you put on one of the best pitching performances ever. Three games, three wins, you completed all three games, 27 innings with only two earned runs. What was that experience like for you?
Well, everything went my way. Everything worked well for me. I didn't do anything different. I wasn't awed by the Yankees because I came up in the Yankee organization with Whitey Ford. I was six years, five and a half years in the Yankee minor league system. I wasn't afraid of any of them.
Joe's question #2:
What is your most memorable moment of Milwaukee County Stadium?
I was up there for the last game at County Stadium. I was there for the first and the last. It was a good ballpark. The ball didn't carry exceptionally well.
Joe's question #3:
Of all the different players you played with, who are the ones that you were most impressed with?
That Old Braves team had a lot of good players on it. It was a great team.
Joe's question #4:
What has being a Major League Baseball Player meant to you?
I've been a Baseball Player my whole life. It's all I ever wanted to be.
