Baseball Hall of Fame

Early June, 2000 I made my first trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Let me tell you a few things about my amazing experience at Cooperstown.

Being a Milwaukee Brewer fan I couldn't wait to see all the items relating to the Brewers. From Robin Yount's plaque, to the ball he made his 3000th hit with, it was a touching site. I made sure that my wife took lots of pictures of me with the plaques of everyone who ever played in Milwaukee. This list includes: Aaron, Mathews and Spahn from the old Milwaukee Braves. I also had pictures taken of me with the plaques of the four Brewers in the Hall of Fame: Aaron, Fingers, Sutton, and Yount.

The first day I was there, Hall of Famer Bob Feller was making a speech. This was only available if you are a member of "Friends of the Hall of Fame". When I heard this, I had to join.

It's a great deal. For only 35 dollars a year you get unlimited admission to the Hall, plus lots of bonuses. (In September, Tom Seaver will be there speaking to members).

Mr. Feller was great! He talked about his playing days for about an hour. He let me video tape him (which is for my private use only.) After his speech, he had pictures taken with each guest and signed free autographs. Mr. Feller was under no obligation to sign for free, but he did it anyway. I had the chance to find out what a great guy Bob Feller is, and I wasn't disappointed.

I must say I was very impressed with the whole staff of the Hall of Fame, especially the people who run the "Friends of the Hall of Fame". They put on an awesome show.

Thanks everyone. Email me if you have any questions about the Hall of Fame, or Mr. Feller.
