Milwaukee County Stadium 2000

My wife and I made our annual trip back to Milwaukee to see the Brewers on August 26th and 27th. I went out to get some autographs before the Saturday game. County Stadium is still one of the best places to get signatures.

I was one of the first ones there. I stood by the Brewer parking lot, as I had no interest in getting Padre autographs that day (they were the Brewers opponents). Then I saw a cab pull up to drop of a Padre player and even I had to run, it was Tony Gwynn.

Mr. Gywnn signed for all of us autograph collectors who were there. The ball he signed for me is proudly on display in my nBo Baseball office.

After I got my Tony Gwynn autograph, I went back to the Brewer side of the parking lot. As soon as I was there, Charlie Hayes came walking up. He signed a picture for me. It was one I had taken of him at Pac Bell.

One of my best moments was when Brewer hitting coach Rod Carew came in. He walked up to the player's entrance and then stopped to sign for everyone there. I have heard that Mr. Carew is a tough autograph to get, so I guess it was my lucky day. I found Mr. Carew to be a very nice guy.

Other Brewer players, and coaches, who signed for me, were: Burnitz and Belliard - both on pictures I had taken at Pac Bell. The following all signed on the same ball for me: Lopes, Weathers, Royster, Ray King, Paul Righton, Leskanic, Apodaca, Speier, D'Amico, Loretta, Wright, Haynes, Acevedo, James Mouton, Bill Castro, Blanco and Mark Sweeney.

When I was getting autographs, I was happy to see that three people recognized me from the nBo Baseball web site. My last trip to Milwaukee County Stadium was a great experience and something I'll never forget.
