Andre Thornton played in the Major Leagues from 1973 to 1987. During his career Mr. Thornton hit 253 Home Runs with 895 RBI and a .452 Slugging Percentage.
Recently, I asked him some questions about his career. I called Mr. Thornton on two occasions and he called me back. In Mr. Thornton's phone call to me he stated, that since he is very busy, the best way he could answer these questions was through email. The answers were printed out and are saved in the nBo Archive.


Joe's Question #1: You had great years in Cleveland. From 1977 to 1985 you led the Indians in Home Runs seven times and RBI four times. What were those seasons like for you?
Mr. Thornton's Answer: Joe, those years were both exciting and frustrating.

Joe's Question #2: Of all of your accomplishments during your Major League baseball career, including: (the 1982 Hutch award, The 1979 Roberto Clemente Award, 1984 Silver Slugger Award and being a Two Time All-Star), which of those are you proudest of?
Mr. Thornton's Answer: Joe, I have not given that much thought but I'm extremely proud of all of them.

Joe's Question #3: What are some of the most memorable moments of your baseball career?
Mr. Thornton's Answer: Opening day home runs, hitting for the cycle, and being chosen for all the above mentioned awards.

Joe's Question #4: What has being a Major League Baseball Player meant to you in your life?
Mr. Thornton's Answer: I'm very thankful to God for the opportunity to have played as long as I did.
